Brazil’s national airport authority Infraero will call a 42mn-real (US$23.7mn) tender in May to build a third passenger terminal at Confins international airport in Minas Gerais state capital Belo Horizonte, a spokesperson told BNamericas.
“An Infraero team is developing the basic plan at the moment. The tender is expected at the end of May, with actual construction to start later this year,” the spokesperson said.
Civil works should be finished up in 2013, the official added.
Terminal III will be a remote terminal, covering 11,000m2. Besides a public hall and vehicle parking facilities, it will have areas for check-in, loading and unloading, passenger inspection, shopping, and support services.
