If you think there are no knew ways to get attention for your business, you might just need to be more creative. The more unusual and different the idea is, the more people will notice it. When the person sold ad space on their forehead, on eBay, people and the media really paid attention. It seemed like for a while there people would be making cash selling advertising on body parts.

The media got all worked up and interested and other people decided that they wanted to do the same thing. There was soon a trade in advertising on body parts that went on for a while. It didn’t last though. Mainly because it was more a strange idea as opposed to a good one. Id did successfully grab a ton of attention though.

Another unusual way of getting peoples attention is using banners that fly behind planes. This old news though. People used small remote control planes with little banners to fly through conventions and trade shows, and that was something unusual at the time. Taking that a step further, people actually used flies, with teeny tiny banners tied to their legs, to fly their message around tradeshows. That got a lot of attention.

Now using a fly was a very, and some would say distasteful way to advertise. The point it that it was something that was completely outside of the box. Doing something that unusual and innovative would be a one time thing. Doing something that crazy would not take many times of actually doing it to grab a ton of attention.

So you could have a giant donut hand out promotional pens at a stop light in your neighborhood, or you could have an average looking employee do it. Which one do you think that people will remember more? The donut will get people talking about your promotion and they won’t soon forget that giant doughnut approaching their car to give them a pen. That is a way to take a small promotional advertisement to the next level and a way to inexpensively promote your business.

It is important to use good promotional merchandise when getting business exposure. You can give away bunches of promotional mugs to your regular customers.
